Biography :
Mr. Benoit KANYANGIRA is serving as the Acting Head of Department of BBA Procurement. He is currently involved in research, training and teaching Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain related topics in the School of Business of the College of Business and Economics.

Benoit attended training and qualified in delivering Training of Trainers (ToT) in Procurement management which has been organized in twinning arrangement between the SFB and ITCILO for Public Procurement Capacity Building in Rwanda . He has also participated in Student Training for Entrepreneurial Promotion (STEP), STEP Training of Trainers workshop at Leuphana University- Germany.

He holds a Master Degree in Public Procurement Management for Sustainable Development conferred by University of Turin - Outreach program Joint SFB - ITC/ILO - University of Turin., a Master of Business Administration (MBA) conferred by Maastricht School of Management - outreach program (MSM) in partnership with School Finance and Banking (SFB) with Specialization in Finance. He has also Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.

Areas of research :

Mr. Benoit is interested in research in the area of Public Procurement Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management. He is also in the area of Accounting and Taxation.

Publications :

His first research at Master’s Thesis was on " Assessment of effectiveness of public procurement process in Rwanda". A case study of School Finance and Banking (SFB) In his research, he discovered that ". A significant proportion of public spending occurs through the public procurement process. Poor planning, inadequate budget to pay suppliers on time, breach and irregularities in contract award and management and limitation of skills and knowledge to the persons involved in procurement process have been identified as the causes of inefficiency and ineffectiveness in procurement process.

Mr. Benoit is involved in writing a book on "Advanced Financial Accounting" which is now at the stage of review.
