Biography :
Jean Bosco NDIKUBWIMANA is the Lecturer in Applied Statistics Department, School of Economics, in the College of Business and Economics at the University of Rwanda. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics, from the School of Sciences at National University of Rwanda in 2010, a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics with specialization in Statistical Modelling and Actuarial Sciences from the College of Sciences and Technology at University of Rwanda in 2014, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education in 2015 from the College of Education at University Rwanda, Applied Quantitative Economics Preparation for a Doctorate Certificate from the College of Business and Economics at University of Rwanda in partnership with Economic Policy Research Network (EPRN), Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences, Kleve, Germany in 2017, and currently he is PhD Scholar in Data Science with majors in Econometrics at African Centre of Excellence in Data Science (ACE II-DS) at University of Rwanda from October 2017 and he awarded the Certificate of Completing a training course in Research Methodology organized by ACE-DS in Collaboration with Birmingham City University with Financial Support of Erasmus in December 2017. He served four years at MINEDUC/RWANDA, Nyanza District, College Du Christ - Roi de Nyanza as the teacher of Mathematics from 2010 to 2013 and he served as Tutorial Assistant in 2013 and Assistant Lecturer at the University of Lay Adventists of Kigali (UNILAK) from 2013 to 2015 before joining the College of Business and Economics at University of Rwanda in 2015. He coordinated research enumerators as chief statistician in different studies from 2010 to date such as coordination of more than 400 teachers of Sciences and Mathematics as Over-all representative of all participants in the Training of Teaching Mathematics and Sciences (SMASSES) Project in Secondary School (Phase Three) 2010 at Gisagara District, Save Sector and more than 1000 people (including co-workers, Associations members, students) under trainings/ supervision from 2010 to date. Coordinator of Environment, Geographical Information System (GIS) and Anti-Sida Club in College du Christ-Roi de Nyanza from 2010 to 2013 He received training on Leadership, Development and Good governance at National University of Rwanda given by RIAM in 2009(Phase Two). He participated in Teaching Mathematics courses as Monitor at NUR and he was the Chief Academic Affairs in the Association of Promoting Sciences and Mathematics from 2008 to 2009 ; Executive Secretary of Muhoza Sector, Musanze District, Northern Province under DUSAF association in 2008 at NUR. He have a good command in designing questionnaires, data collection, data entry, data analysis and dissemination, he worked as Commercial Agent in the areas of Life and General Insurances at SORAS Group Ltd and he gained the internship in the technical and Actuary departments in SORAS Ltd.

Jean Bosco is a highly motivated, organized and committed Staff that possesses the passion to contribute to his country. He teach Actuarial Mathematics, Principal of Actuarial Models : Life Contingency and Financial Economics, Stochastic Processes, Statistics for Economists, Mathematics for Economists, Quantitative Methods, Research Data Analysis, Operations research, Basic and Business Mathematics, among others. He is a hard-working and very motivated in his work. In the whole working process, He demonstrate his competence and he has the quality of team-working ability to carry out the ideas. In his opinion and experience in teaching from 2008 up to date, he is able to contribute to the academicians, consultancy and researchers’ teams in order to solve the real life problem. He has a keen interest in teaching, research and consultancies activities, Monitoring and Evaluations, Impact assessment, Cost Benefit assessment and Sensitivity analysis and he have the capability to contribute to the community engagement. He has a strong personal initiative and willingness to accept responsibilities, ability to operate independently and on short notice for timely activities, good communication skills, relevant skills of reporting and briefing, reliable hard worker, well organized, used to work on my own initiative, able to cope under pressure, well at team work, self-motivated, teachable, Innovative. Goal setting and personal growth, teamwork, time management and work conduct, customer services, decision making and leadership skills, work safety, ability to interact with people of diverse backgrounds, ability to work under minimum supervisors, ability to work for longer hours even under tense and stressful conditions, very effective team player. He have a good technology awareness and computer skills including proficiency in : Microsoft office, Mat-lab, SPSS, Stata, R-studio, E-views, Latex, research on Internet, and so on.

His goals in the University of Rwanda is to provide high scientific knowledge and practical skills to carry out research and consultancy in Applied Quantitative Economics and Statistics to the students, improve his teaching and evaluation, based to the needs of society in economics and statistics as well as economical outreach services to citizen and he will help his university to put in place a strong economic security system in our country for effective control of new, emerging and re-emerging challenges, contributing to poverty eradication and economical outcomes of Rwandan population. In particular, he is interested in applying my degrees to predict and forecast financial opportunities and decisions among others.
