Biography :
Jonas BARAYANDEMA is a Senior Lecturer and Ag Dean of the School of Business, College of Business and Economics at the University of Rwanda. He held numerous previous administrative positions including, Head of Department of Management, MBA Programme Coordinator and Deputy Dean. He has served as a chair or member of numerous ad hoc, conference and workshop program committees. He holds a PhD Degree in management from the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium).

He has strong teaching and research experience and his practical experience includes participating in numerous consulting projects.

His research interests lie in the area of Investment analysis, financial risk management, financial markets and supply chains analysis. He attended numerous International Scientific Research Conferences and presented research papers from which he was awarded the “Best Paper Presentation Award” by the International Scientific Research Committee, (Research title : Analysis of costs and risks of holding foreign exchange reserves in Rwanda, 4th NUR International Scientific Research Conference, 16th – 18th 2011, National University of Rwanda). He was awarded as well : the “The Best Paper Award” in 2009. (Research paper : Determining the optimum strategy for hedging currency exposure, an empirical study in internationally active companies in Rwanda”, 3rd NUR International Scientific Research Conference, 19th -21st 2009, National University of Rwanda).
